Here you go, another one for the PlayBook - Space Junk

Space Junk is a simple yet addictive game that has fans of all ages coming back for just one more try.

Guide your rocket thru the never-ending cosmos in an effort to collect all of the space junk floating around. Your scoring multiplier increases for every junked satellite that you pick up, but watch out - it also increases your speed! I've just sent in Tots to RIM for approval. Look for it to magically appear in AppWorld in the next few days. Tots is a kids learning game that was developed by request. Only took a little over a month - not too bad for a game that includes four mini-games.

Blackberry Playbook

Thank you to everyone who bought Pixel Idols for their new Blackberry Playbook. I am getting some feedback that the game doesn't run all that great on your new tablet.

Please bear with me as I am still waiting to get my hands on an actual Playbook. As soon as I get my developers hardware from Blackberry (should be sometime this week), I will tune and test the heck out of Pixel Idols to make sure it runs smoothly and is an all-around great game.

Pixel Zombie - Twin Stick Shooter

I needed to take a break from coding Pixel Dungeon so I thought I'd try my hand at a twin stick shooter. At this point in time, Pixel Zombie will be just a single-room, multiple level shooter where you try to save all the innocent people in the room and get out before the zombies overwhelm you with their increasing numbers. Currently, there are a few different gun types (pistol, shotgun, machine gun, grenade launcher), a couple different power-ups (speed increase, invisibility) and just two zombie types (regular and a charger).

As always, the artwork is all placeholder at this stage in the game. And yes, there are some alpha blending issues that need to be sorted out.

I have also begun testing out the virtual joystick controls.

Pixel Dungeon - Explosion Tremor

Created a new video showing off what will become a tremor-like after effect of explosions. Still need to fade out the amplitude of the waveform as the distance from the epicenter increases.

Today I added the prison construct to Pixel Dungeon. I guess I should start making some heroes to put in prison. Check out the video for all the excitement.

Pixel Dungeon - Early Overview

I finally have enough logic in the game to show it off. So here is the first ever video for Pixel Dungeon (working title). But first a few caveats:

there is no creature animation
it uses all placeholder art (models, textures, icons)
no sound
creatures like to cut corners during pathfinding

What you are watching here is the basic worker creature, the peon, performing a few basic tasks. These include creating a lair (on the green blocks) and resting in it, getting hungry and eating a chicken, mining out some new areas, collecting gold and depositing it in the treasury (purple blocks).

The peon will also (reluctantly) perform training to level up and will stand watch when placed on a guard post. Ideally, the peon will only leave the guard post to eat and rest, but for this video I have the peon's "needs" turned way up (so things happen more often) and he doesn't stay put on the guard post for very long - but he always returns.

This next video adds a few more peons to the mix and also introduces a couple of new creature types - the ogre and the wizard (they only rest and eat at this point). Nothing new occurs in this video but it does show that the creatures can work together on tasks.
